TLT Headcount ~ December 2007

Since we’re planning to do the headcount in December, I decided to update what I posted while I have the free time. Once this is approved, I’ll send a novel wide message immediately, all-righty?

The time has come again for another headcount. All those interested in continuing being an active, contributing member of The Last Trojan, you have one month – the end of December – to reply to this Headcount Thread. Any member that doesn’t reply on the linked thread will be removed. Those interested in rejoining after being removed will be on a temporary probation for one month to see how active and committed they will be. If there is any reason as to why any member could not reply to the headcount in time, he or she shall be considered individually. For example, if a member has limited computer access during the headcount, he or she will have to explain to the MoBs the exact reason(s) and the probation shall be shorted to two weeks instead.

TLT Headcount ~ December 2007

I’m finally sick of having so many members in TLT that do nothing while we work our butts off posting, organizing, and keeping storylines going even while we’re busy with our own lives too. So, since I had the time, I was inspired to work on that headcount we’ve been planning for months. I wanted to post it here in case I need to edit or add anything before sending the novel wide message.

Questions:

1) How long should the probation be?
2) Are there any other conditions that needed to be mentioned?

L’Affaire Dailies Advertisement

We need to organize L’Affaire’s dailies advertisement! How else are we going to get more active members? We need to decide what is going to be on the advertisement, who will be designing it, and such. It won’t be hard figuring this information out since we can use Deia’s brilliant DJ as a guide for the advertisement layout; we just need to do it instead of putting it off like we have been doing. I agree with Deia’s idea about featuring one Affaire at a time, perhaps weekly or monthly? Which Affaire should we feature first?

Originally when L’Affaire was first created, I had started to create what text was going to be on the advertisement, which I still have so I’ll post it here. We could still use one of the little poems I wrote for L'Affaire since only one has been used on the novel DJ. What do you think of this quote being on advertisement: "When women oppose themselves to the projects and ambition of men, they excite their lively resentment; if in their youth they meddle with political intrigues, their modesty must suffer." ~ Madame de Stael (Baronne Anne Louise Germaine de Stael-Holstein

If you have any other wonderful ideas, I’d love to hear them!

Featured Deity

I had an idea for getting more posts at TLT. So here's the proposal: We should feature a god or goddess every week (or more frequently?) and members can post information and pictures or whatever about them in the library or a special thread for this purpose...and those who participate can get a gem token, for being a good scholar? What do you think?

There's a few points I think we could discuss. One is how frequently a new deity will be featured. I think a week is the longest it should be, because member interest will probably drop off after a few days if we don't keep changing it frequently. My other question is, what culture's gods and goddesses will we feature? Greek, definitely, but I thought it would be fun to do some near-eastern ones like Ishtar and the Hittite deities too, since Troy is a mix of Greek and Near-Eastern religions.

TLT ~ Rebellion Committee List

Since Deia has been nagging (yes, nagging!!!) me about this, here is the new version of the Rebellion Committee List! Some members aren’t listed because I didn’t know what specific role they wanted to play in the rebellion. I used what information I have, so if there needs to be any corrections or additions, please let me know. Btw, I included some NPCs because they are really important in our current storyline, although eventually they can be weeded out of the rebellion when the chances arise.

TLT ~ the Rebellion

Since we need to get the rebellion going, let’s talk about ideas on how to get the rebellion moving faster. I’ve been trying to brainstorm ideas for months now but the main problem has been that most of our members are inactive, which is about to change with the headcount and gaining more active members. However, those aren’t just the only factors that are holding us back.

As Deia has pointed out, we need to brainstorm ideas so we know what we’re going to do next in the rebellion. We can’t get the rebellion going without having some clue about what’s going to happen next. I recall Deia mentioning that posts we need to do include: Arynthya getting Helen involved in the rebellion soon and that we should have some kind of secret meeting to plain and organize the rebellion, such as deciding who is going to play what role in the rebellion (like who is going to be a spy and such). Right, oh, and is there anything else that I forgot to mention, Deia?

P.S. Since I’m on break, I’ll have more time to organize Cast Lists, such as the Rebellion Committee List, which I’ll be posting here soon enough.

TLT ~ Headcount

Deia, you shall get your wish! (She wanted The Secret Temple of the Bibliophile Knights to be used more and it will since we have a lot of organizing to do for our novels). Originally I was going to start TLT’s second headcount in October but since I was so busy with school I never got fully done organizing in time. Now that we have somewhere private to discuss such matters, I think it very appropriate to discuss the headcount.

First off ~ how much time allotted for headcount?
* Is one month long enough?

Welcome Knights!

I guess a few explanations are in order for why we've set up our own little spot away from Pan. The main reason is that we needed a place where we could discuss issues with our novels and do our MoBly duties freely. None of us could afford a Salon at Pan, so this off-site blog seems like the best solution.

Why the name? It developed from Ary's idea, Bibliophile Knights (I don't remember where this came from, but it was first suggested when we were discussing ideas for a Salon name at Pan a few months ago), and I embellished it a little, with a nod to the Knight's Templar.

What will we do here? We can discuss novel and character planning in a private environment, which is good in case you're planning something interesting and want input but don't want to spoil the surprise for novel readers. Our main topics will be TLT, KoC, and L'Affaire, but other novels can come into it too (it's not like we're forbidding any other discussion...I'm sure there will be plenty of room for digression occassionally).

Anyway, these are just my conceptions of what we'll use this place for...anyone can suggest their ideas!

//EDIT: I think it might be a good idea to post a small picture at the beginning of the post like I have to identify ourselves more easily...what do you guys think?
