TLT ~ Novel Discussion

Although I still feel a bit dispassionate with PH, my MoBster tendencies have kicked back in a little bit. I think we should start a discussion on the planning boards – mostly concerning where we’re at in the rebellion and where we’re going on from here. Members might be confused on what’s going on, especially since we had a chunk of our novel erased, which could be discouraging members such as myself (I know it’s sad but it’s the truth!). If we do go through with this, when should we start the discussion? What exactly should we discuss? I hate to admit this but even I am confused on what to do next particularly. Yes, I am aware that a rebellion meeting between the major organizers is needed but what else?

TLT ~ Headcount Question

Should we redo the headcount? If so, then when? I still have everything saved from the last headcount; it’s just all the time and effort that needs to be put into sending the messages and removing members that don’t reply to it that needs to be done. I want to move forward once again and we can’t really do that without knowing who wants to be actively involved. Once that is cleared up, we can move onto the fun stuff, like passing out gems and such.

TLT ~ Headcount & Cast Lists News

Even though you most likely already know this, I’ll just post it anyway to keep you updated. Now that the Headcount is over, I’ll be working on all the Cast Lists, which I’ve been slowly updating for a while now. I just mostly need to remove quite a few people, add a few, and probably gather some details from a few or more members, and then they’ll probably be done soon (I hope!). So, I’ll post them here sometime in the near future, which means more posts for us (here and at TLT!).

Making use of gems in TLT...

I've been thinking of a while that we haven't really used the gems feature as effectively as we could, so when Ary sent me a message about it a couple of days back, I realised it was about time we did something about it. So here is my proposal.

To encourage frequent posting (especially with our new members) I think we should start a competition for a month or so where writing a certain number of posts since the beginning of the competition earns you a different level of gem. For example, a member who has written 5 posts might get a Ruby, 10 posts might get a Sapphire, etc.

Now, here's what we need to discuss.

1) How long? We should give people ample time to get their gems...right now I'm thinking we won't have a cut-off date? So have the competition a permanent part of TLT? If anyone reaches the "diamond" stage, perhaps we make them a special plaque commemorating all their gems? Any other ideas on what they should get?

2) At what intervals does a writer receive gems? I was thinking we should start at 5 (or maybe less) to encourage people to go the mile. Should we do them at intervals of 5, or make them get harder as they go along? If we did make them harder as they went along, I think we should start easier than five....but I really don't know at this stage.

3) What order should the gems be given out? We might need to do some research on how the ones we have rank in order of value.

I’m finally sick of having so many members in TLT that do nothing while we work our butts off posting, organizing, and keeping storylines going even while we’re busy with our own lives too. So, since I had the time, I was inspired to work on that headcount we’ve been planning for months. I wanted to post it here in case I need to edit or add anything before sending the novel wide message.

Featured Deity

I had an idea for getting more posts at TLT. So here's the proposal: We should feature a god or goddess every week (or more frequently?) and members can post information and pictures or whatever about them in the library or a special thread for this purpose...and those who participate can get a gem token, for being a good scholar? What do you think?

There's a few points I think we could discuss. One is how frequently a new deity will be featured. I think a week is the longest it should be, because member interest will probably drop off after a few days if we don't keep changing it frequently. My other question is, what culture's gods and goddesses will we feature? Greek, definitely, but I thought it would be fun to do some near-eastern ones like Ishtar and the Hittite deities too, since Troy is a mix of Greek and Near-Eastern religions.

TLT ~ the Rebellion

Since we need to get the rebellion going, let’s talk about ideas on how to get the rebellion moving faster. I’ve been trying to brainstorm ideas for months now but the main problem has been that most of our members are inactive, which is about to change with the headcount and gaining more active members. However, those aren’t just the only factors that are holding us back.

As Deia has pointed out, we need to brainstorm ideas so we know what we’re going to do next in the rebellion. We can’t get the rebellion going without having some clue about what’s going to happen next. I recall Deia mentioning that posts we need to do include: Arynthya getting Helen involved in the rebellion soon and that we should have some kind of secret meeting to plain and organize the rebellion, such as deciding who is going to play what role in the rebellion (like who is going to be a spy and such). Right, oh, and is there anything else that I forgot to mention, Deia?

P.S. Since I’m on break, I’ll have more time to organize Cast Lists, such as the Rebellion Committee List, which I’ll be posting here soon enough.

TLT ~ Headcount

Deia, you shall get your wish! (She wanted The Secret Temple of the Bibliophile Knights to be used more and it will since we have a lot of organizing to do for our novels). Originally I was going to start TLT’s second headcount in October but since I was so busy with school I never got fully done organizing in time. Now that we have somewhere private to discuss such matters, I think it very appropriate to discuss the headcount.

First off ~ how much time allotted for headcount?
